I’m looked at time by time on Ravelry’s group “Free Pattern Testers“, but a week ago I found a pearl I definately wanted to knit – “Windswept pullover” by Emily Wessel. What kind of question? Of course I want to testknit that beautiful pullover!
As I have a almost 9-year old daughter at home, I choose that size. She loves green, so the yarn choice was also easy – green Drops Alpaca. The yarn is thinner than the pattern needs, my gauge was by 3,5mm needles 22*27 per 10 cm.
I cast on with Asa’s Amazing Tab Cast On – no need to frogg the crocheted chain. Then I just followed the pattern…. I used 165 g (~ 550m / 600yds) of yarn.
After finishing the raglan part seemed to me a little short (armholes are too narrow), but I think that’s because my gauge for row height is not perfect. When Hiie tryed it on, she said that it feels OK for her and she loves it very much – tommorrow will go to school with wearing it.
There was only one little problem – all measurements are done with non-metric system, but that’s easy to reacalculate :D.
The pattern was clear and well written, the knitting was pure pleasure. If the designer is satisfied with my work, I’d be happy to test her next patterns.
